Libertarians need to get on the national ballot

Our founding fathers designed a constitution that limited the power of our federal government.  Individual states had the power to make up their own laws as long as they did not conflict with the Constitution of the U.S.A.

Here in Fort Wayne, our city council passed a smoking ban, which is perfectly legal.  Considering the number of smokers is declining year after year, it should be a good law.   If you don’t like it, go somewhere else to light up.    This is part of the design of our country, that different comunities are allowed to se up their own rules and regulations.

The problem we have now is that people expect the Federal Government to do more than it is legally allowed to do.  And more than it is legally required to do.   The Libertarians seem to be the only ones who understand this, at least on the national level.  Locally, we don’t really need libertarians, because we have the freedom to make as many crazy restrictive laws as we want.  Like I said, if you don’t like the rules, move. Or work to change them.

However, here’s why we do need local libertarians: Ya gotta start somewhere.
